Q: Can my service dog go with me everywhere I go, or are there places that I'm not able to take it? A: There are very few places that a service dog may not be permitted, but in general, any public place you might go such as a theater, restaurants, bars, malls, convenience/grocery stores, public transportation ... etc. your service dog will be able to accompany you. There are a couple exceptions when it comes to public access. Private clubs can restrict access to public areas only unless you have a membership that allows you to utilize private member areas. A service dog cannot be used to force access to such places. For more information on public access, visit the Department of Justice's ADA Business Brief page. |
